
On Wednesday, May 22nd, longtime Clayton resident Bob Carlson was presented the 2023 LEAF School Forest Award, in recognition of his contribution to the Clayton School District forest program! Mr. Carlson was presented this award by Steve Schmidt, Outreach Specialist at the University of Wisconsin-Steven's Point. Many thanks to Mr. Carlson for his continued dedication to the students at Clayton! Go Bears!

Clayton School District is participating in the Summer Food Service Program! Any child under the age of 18 living in the district is eligible for a free breakfast and lunch, Monday-Friday until the end of June.

Consider taking them to a Young Eagles Event in the area! Chapter 631 is the local EAA chapter and they are offering free airplane rides for youth (ages 8-17) during the spring and summer months, weather permitting! Find more information here:

On Wednesday, May 22nd, Mrs. Hines’ 6th-grade social studies class traveled to Clear Lake to visit the Clear Lake Museum, Clear Lake Park, Clear Lake Veteran’s Memorial, and Paulson Brothers Ordinance. The students had a great time and learned so much. Special thanks to Bergmann’s Greenhouse for making the wreath that was present at the memorial, Doug and Virginia Cahow for the tours and their wealth of information, as well as Bruce and Bernie Paulson for sharing their collection of cannons and their knowledge of Civil War History. ~ Mrs. Hines

Three years after the end of the Civil War, Decoration Day was established as a time to "decorate' the graves of the war dead with flowers. In 1971, Memorial Day was declared a federal holiday by an act of Congress and moved to the last Monday in May.


Mr. Bartz and his 5th-grade class have been busy practicing a play based on the book "MonsterSuffixes"! Friday was their 1st live performance for the 4th-grade class! They will take their 'show' on the road next week for the lower elementary classes! 🎬 🎟
